Purple Haze 23 A5 Feminised was created by crossing a Purple Haze mother (#23) from the Oldtimer’s Haze line, and Nevil’s elite clone of A5 Haze (NL #5 x Original Haze male A). This hybrid is similar to some of the best Colombian sativa strains from the 1960s and 1970s.
The Purple Haze 23 A5 feminised is a 90% sativa strain with good to very good resistance to a range of factors including heat, cold, mould and assorted plant pests. The extremely stable pure Oldtimer’s Haze genetics provides uniformity. Whilst, the mother Purple Haze #23 dominates with its sativa character, both in growth and flowering traits. On the other hand, the powerful A5 Haze brings plenty of vigour, yield and its distinctive classic Colombian Haze aromas.
Growing;
Indoors flowering is long, 13 – 16 weeks, but yields can be very good. A short period of vegetative growth is recommended indoors to help tame the plants’ height and using the SCRoG (Screen of Green) technique will also be beneficial. A low to moderate feeding schedule will be plenty and an eleven hour lighting period will help to ‘cement’ flowering faster.
Outdoors, this strain grows up to a latitude of 40deg and greenhouse cultivation may help to stretch this limit a bit further. Plants are tall, slim and very flexible in strong winds with quite long internodal length. The leaves are long and thin and plants inherit the mother’s tendency to display purple colours towards maturity.
Effect and Flavour;
Scents and flavours of Purple Haze 23 A5 feminised are floral along with berries, seasoned wood, spice and metallic notes alongside meatier properties with notes of hash and incense and a certain saltiness.
THC content is average at around 13% while CBD is practically zero and CBG 0.46%. The effect is racy, cerebral, introspective and rather detached. Further, it doesn’t get too heavy and eventually becomes more relaxed and calming.
