Sweet Island Skunk Regular is an inbred line that is 70% sativa. A long-time native to Vancouver Island, Sweet Island Skunk is a hardy strain enabling it to survive and thrive in the Vancouver rain forest region. It is also suitable for cultivation indoors.
Plants grown indoors will be ready eight weeks after flowering begins. At first the long buds look light and airy but around week 5 they start to gain weight, producing plenty of sticky resin giving the buds a white appearance. Outdoors, growers will be harvesting in late September in northern latitudes, or in Late March in the southern hemisphere.
Sweet Island Skunk isn’t called ‘sweet’ for nothing as its flavour lives up to its name. Although 70% sativa, the effect is that of an indica stone and it is said to possess therapeutic qualities. In fact Sweet Island Skunk was winner of the 2012 Treating Yourself Medical Marijuana Cup.
